Muscle relaxing injections can be used to decrease the action of the muscles of the forehead and around the eyes and lower jaw . This improves the appearance of frown lines, wrinkles and sagging skin so gives a more youthful appearance and a thinner-looking face. The treatment starts working after a couple of days, gaining full effectiveness after a fortnight, and usually lasts about three months. We take care to assess the amount of material needed to achieve a natural look.
Dermal Fillers are used to plump out deeper wrinkles and to create more fullness in the lips. They are used primarily around the mouth and nose and chin but can also be used for minor reshaping of the nose. We use products containing the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, such as Juvederm®, which usually last around nine months.
Chemical Peels give a more youthful appearance by removing the outer layer of dead skin. This reduces fine lines and restores the vitality of the skin. It can be used on the face neck and décolletage region. The system involves preparing the skin using a four-stage cleansing and moisturising system for two weeks before the peel is applied. The actual peel takes about two days so can be planned to occur over a weekend. Daily sun protection is essential to protect the newer skin and prevent the reoccurrence of the damage.
Semi Permanent Make-up can be used to define eyebrows and outline the eyes and lips so give shape and form to the face. It can be used for medical reasons to provide a cosmetic enhancement, for example after breast reconstruction. Tattoo removal is also available.
